nepal01The traditional Nepalese greeting, which in its fullest sense, means 'I honour the God within you.'

In Nepal you would not shake hands, but rather place both hands together in front of the heart chakra, bow, and say: namasté (pron: na-ma-steh).

Namasté is from the Sanskrit and means to bow, or to greet with reverence and respect.

In Nepal it is common to begin a letter with namasté, just as it is to begin a conversation.
